They have this long section of the road closed for NYC's version of a pasar malam, where there are the same stalls, like kebab shops, fruit juice stalls (there's this brand which is run by all Chinese peeps), I-Love-NY memorabilia stalls, etcs, repeated a million times.
And ostensibly, not only leftists populate the city.
Times Square in the night. There are quite a few of these random smoke/steam?-emitting roadblocks around, which I haven't a clue what they're about.

Fashion week is on right now at Bryant Park. It's invite only, so us plebians could only gaze admiringly at the entrance, hoping to spot glamourous people as they enter or exit. How many designers can you identify in the picture?

Rockafella Center. I spy a Singapore flag!

Central Park. Or to be precise, the southern tip of Central Park. I think I saw about 10% of the park.

And a mere month after my Singapore Zoo visit, I get to visit another! This time, twas the Central Park zoo. So, more pictures of animals!

The red panda is adorable.
Our feathered cousins.

The penguins were adorable too. They seemingly just stand there, as though at attention, the whole day.
The Apple shop. So you either take this cyclindrical glass elevator or a spiral staircase down to the shop. And I held an iphone (now USD200 cheaper, so early adopters must be pissed off.)! Yeah, cheap thrill (the city is pricy, after all, so I'll take what I can get for free!) .
The Empire State Buidling by day and night.
Speaking of cheap thrillsI suppose I will go see the actual one eventually.
And that concludes the pictorial documentation of my first steps in the city. More to come in the future then! *exhausted from all the walking* I think I'll take the subway next time.

haha no.. been quiet nights thus far.. I have heard drunk people making loud noises on the road outside occasionally though, and I saw one seemingly hacking at leaves on a tree with, i think, a guitar. lol. So probably I'm just not clued in to the scene.
I'll see you tomorrow night at West 95th St. Take the sub to West 96th St. So exciting! You gonna bring me around on Sunday to Central Park and Times Square too, no?
Gonna catch the plane now.
Cheers!
Dude, I realise there are two stops for West 96th St for both 1 and 9 line. My hostel is the block closer to the hudson river so stop at the right stop yeah.
See you!
